The Bridal Suite

A romantic and luxurious wedding suite

The bridal suite is housed in the castle’s old tower. Here you get an authentic feeling of the life of the lairds of Fingask in the 19th century with some of the original furniture and pictures which have been in the family for hundreds of years.

Aunt Effie’s Room is the biggest of the 3 rooms named after a maiden sister of Sir Patrick Threipland. It has a cast iron bath in the corner of the room, a great 4 poster bed and plenty of room for brides and their party to gather before the wedding. Room for hairdressers, manicurists and make-up artists to exercise their skills.

The Yellow room and the Patchwork room each also have authentic 19th c. 4 poster beds. They look out onto the knot garden below and beyond over the Carse of Gowrie. They share a bathroom - generous enough to house two arm chairs, a roll top bath, a shower and a dressing table.

We guarantee with each wedding that the bride has access to one of the bridal suite rooms. The whole suite is open for hire, with breakfast if wanted. Continental breakfast is served in the old library, an intimate room lined with 18th & 19th c. books.

The bridal couple often take Aunt Effie’s room, while some of their immediate families take the other two rooms, so they can all have a leisurely breakfast together the day after the wedding, reminiscing over the day before. Breakfasts can be quite riotous.

The Bridal Suite is only available for hire in connection with weddings or parties in the Pavilion.
