Jackdaws and Other Friends is not a bird book, nor a landscape book, nor an autobiography, nor a poetry book, nor even a history book but bits of pieces of all these, connected by the thread of a morning walk in the grounds of Fingask Castle taken in lockdown.

In between the text are drawings, mostly descriptive enough, for the amateur to identify the 100 different species of birds that appear at Fingask. Also snippets of poetry put in for the fun of them and a long poem about a jackdaw that Andrew, the author, thinks should be better known.
