Fingask Cottages are set in 100 acre’s of the historic gardens and woods of Fingask Castle, enjoying southerly views to the Firth of Tay and the hills of Fife beyond. The half mile long drive curves up through the wooded glen and crosses Fingask stream on a high arched stone bridge overlooking St Peter’s Well in the dell below. Fingask is truly a magic place!

Cottages at Fingask have central heating and log fires. They are well furnished and fully equipped including colour TV/DVD, board games, books, toys, payphone, bath, shower, electric cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and a good selection of pots and pans, crockery, cutlery, glasses, toaster, kettle etc. Garden furniture is provided in spring and summer. Electricity, heating, wireless internet access, logs, towels and bedding are included in the charges. Parking is available close to each property.

The cottages at Fingask are owned by two different persons: one is a partnership known as ‘Fingask Cottages’ and the other privately owned called ‘Sir Stuart’s’. For the visitor the only difference is whom to pay, and you will be told when booking..

Beech Tree Cottage

Beech Tree is a two storey cottage at the end of the courtyard. The ground floor has a sitting room with a log fire, double bedroom en suite, kitchen/dining area, a laundry room & w.c. A stone staircase leads to the top floor with two twin bedrooms, on with a basin, a single child’s bedroom, two bathrooms, one with a bath & w.c., the other with a shower & w.c.

Redwood Cottage

Redwood’s front door leads straight onto the lawn, the back door leads to the covered courtyard. The ground floor has a sitting/dining room with an open fire, a kitchen, a double bedroom and bathroom & w.c. Upstairs there are two twin bedrooms, one with w.c. and both with basins; a single bedroom and a separate shower room & w.c.

Sycamore Cottage

Sycamore’s front door leads straight onto the lawn whilst parking and the backdoor is in the corner of the courtyard. On the ground floor there is a sitting/dining room with an open fire and a kitchen; upstairs there is a double and a twin bedroom and a bathroom.

Rowan Cottage

Rowan is a two storey cottage; its backdoor leads into the courtyard, its front door straight onto the lawn. On the ground floor there is a sitting/dining room with a log burner and a kitchen. Upstairs there is a double and a twin bedroom and a bathroom.

Sir Stuart's House

Sir Stuart’s is a modern house named after Sir Stuart Threipland, physician to Bonnie Prince Charlie. It stands close to Fingask Lake. There is a short walk to the car park over the Fingask burn via a stone foot bridge. The house has an entrance porch, a large open plan sitting/dining room with integral kitchen, and an en suite double bedroom (suitable for the mildly disabled) and a separate cloakroom & w.c.

Gean Tree Cottage

Gean Tree is a detached single storey cottage which used to be the Castle laundry so has high ceilings and a large lawn surrounded by a beech hedge. There is a sitting/dining room with an open log fire and huge windows, a kitchen/eating room, a double bedroom, a single bedroom and a bathroom. Situated on the shoulder of a hill, with fine views over the Fingask valley.

The Boat House

The boat house sleeps 2 in an adapted version of an old boat house with a generous sauna/steam room, a shower, a w.c., a double bedroom, a kitchen, a balcony overlooking the lake and a breakfast area.

The boat house is designed for a short stay.
