Fingask Gardens ( Open only by arrangement).

Time Longville's Snippets – I recently visited Fingask Castle, perched on a rocky and steeply sloping hillside above the flat plain of the Carse of Gowrie, midway between Perth and Dundee; its ancient garden includes some engaging but little-known examples of topiary at its least textbook-like and most wildly exuberant. It also includes an overgrown but still envy-inducing jungle of a water garden, created in the early twentieth century in a dell below the castle and having as its picturesque focal point St Peter's Well, reputedly a stopping-point for medieval pilgrims.
